Description
450 hp Stearman PT-17 with P W Engine from Tulsa Aircraft restored in early 2000s by famous Pete Reed (see photo of him with my wife at Galesburg flyin). This plane features two extra 11 gallon fuel tanks on either side of the 46 gallon tank so the plane has the same range between fuel stops as a 220 hp engine. Gets 18 to 22 gallons per hour depending upon how you fly it. I waited five full years to get my chance to buy a Pete Reed restoration and my wife and I have flown this plane across the country 4 times. Been to Galesburg twice with it. Lots of unused power when flying over the Rockies. ADSB out with accessory so you can get ADSB "in" on your foreflight on your knee. Full length HS 2D30 prop. This plane is a blast to enjoy. Never put into commercial service. Just used personally. Only reason I'm selling it is due to my age.
Engine
HD engine mounts, Front End follows Beech 18 mode with double air intake; large oil cooler beneath fuselage (standard)
Propeller
Excellent condition, no ground loops with this owner ever, also have brand new set of Stearman tires which will go with the plane if sold at asking price plus more..............This is a 12 volt airplane, not 24.
Interior
very good condition. Never ever left outside. Have covers for Flyin practically brand new (Bruces)
