Frequently Asked Questions — ICP

What is the ICP Savannah and why is it popular?

The ICP Savannah is an Italian-built high-wing two-seater with over 3,000 units sold worldwide — one of the most successful ultralight/LSA designs ever. Its all-aluminum semi-monocoque construction is durable and simple to maintain. The aircraft excels at STOL operations with vortex generators and full-span flaperons enabling use from unprepared strips. It can be fitted with floats or skis for maximum versatility.

Which ICP Savannah variant is best?

The Savannah VG (Vortex Generator) model is the sweet spot — removing the original leading-edge slats and adding VGs produced 8 mph faster cruise, 100 fpm better climb, and improved glide ratio. The Savannah S is the premium STOL variant with the best combination of short-field, payload, and cruise performance. The Super Duty adds a third seat and significantly more carrying capacity for utility missions.

How does the ICP Savannah compare to other STOL ultralights?

The Savannah competes with the Zenith CH750, RANS S-7 Courier, and Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat in the STOL ultralight/LSA segment. It offers excellent bush-flying capability at competitive kit prices. The aluminum construction is easier to repair in the field than composite alternatives. US support comes through AZ Aeroservices in Arizona. The active global user base of 3,000+ aircraft ensures strong community support.
