About JMB Aircraft Company
JMB Aircraft builds the **VL3** — among the fastest ultralight/LSA two-seaters in the world. A sleek, all-composite, low-wing aircraft with retractable gear and the turbocharged Rotax 915iS, the VL3 delivers cruise speeds that embarrass much larger aircraft while sipping fuel. Available in ultralight, LSA and (in some markets) other categories, with engine variants (912iS / 914 / 915iS / Evolution), it is the choice for buyers who want maximum speed and efficiency in a two-seat composite. There are currently 11 used JMB aircraft for sale.

Frequently Asked Questions — JMB
How fast is the JMB VL-3?
The JMB VL-3 is one of the fastest light sport aircraft available. Powered by the 142 hp Rotax 915iS, it achieves a tested cruise speed of 170 knots (196 mph) at 8,500 feet, with a claimed top cruise of 199 knots at FL180. The climb rate is an impressive 2,000 fpm. Built from carbon fiber and Kevlar with Formula 1-inspired aerodynamics, the VL-3 offers performance that rivals many certified aircraft costing two to three times as much. A fully loaded VL-3 costs approximately 75,000 new. On AeroGurus, we list JMB aircraft at around 39,000.
Is the JMB VL-3 a good light sport aircraft?
The VL-3 is exceptional for pilots who prioritize speed and build quality. The carbon/Kevlar construction achieves supercar-level fit and finish. The Garmin-equipped cockpit is modern and capable. The main tradeoffs: the high cruise speed leaves less margin for LSA weight limits, and the cockpit is optimized for two rather than comfort. The LSA-compliant version uses fixed gear and a slower wing to meet the 120-knot Vne limit, while the ultralight version (available in Europe) unlocks the full speed potential. Factory support from the Czech Republic may involve longer lead times for US-based owners.
