Description
1968 Cessna 172I - C-FXEM This is a 1968 Cessna 172I with 3,704.5 hours total time that had a full engine teardown and rebuild in 2023, along with a new propeller. For anyone who has priced out an overhaul lately, that's the bulk of the ownership risk gone. The engine is a Lycoming O-320-E2D at zero since major, and the prop is zero since new replacement - both done the same year. The panel was updated with dual Garmin G5s, a Garmin 430 WAAS, Mode S transponder, and a JPI EDM engine monitor with fuel flow. It's a practical, functional setup without being cluttered. Power Flow exhaust is installed STC'd, Rosen sun visors, and Aero Fabricators shoulder harness system installed. Last annual was done August/September 2025 at Okanagan Fixed Wing in Vernon. Exterior is a 9/10, interior 7/10 with no tears. Empty weight is 1,326.3 lbs with a 2,300 lb gross. Journey logs go back to new in 1968. Airframe logs are available from March 1982 forward - the earlier records were lost in a hangar fire. All records can be shared digitally. In 2023 the aircraft was involved in a deer strike that resulted in a prop strike event. The propeller was replaced, the engine was fully torn down and rebuilt, the firewall was replaced, and the fuselage was sent to Langley Aerospace for inspection and jig-check. It was returned to service after all required work was completed and signed off. Full documentation is available. Well-suited to private owners, flight training operations, or anyone building time.
