The Thrush S2R is a rugged, single-seat agricultural aircraft — a purpose-built crop-duster/sprayer with a large hopper and heavy-duty structure, operating in radial-piston (R-1340) and turbine (PT6/Garrett) forms. Built to work hard in aerial application, the S2R (510, 710 and turbine variants) is defined by its engine, hopper capacity and dispersal system, and is bought as a working tool by aerial-application operators.
